Legal AABB Aunt Uncle Avuncular DNA Testing At Home. This test determines the likely statistical probability that any person may be the biological family of another person at any level such as aunt or uncle of that person. In-fact, this test can be used to determine if any biological relationship exist at all such as cousins etc...  The cost of the service includes one person and one (alleged family member), but you may add more as needed; for instance a second person or additional Aunt or uncle. This type of testing is referred to as Avuncular DNA analysis.

When the issue of an avuncular relationship is in question, the recommended method is to test the available parent of the person in question if at all possible. In situations where that person’s parent is unavailable for testing, a DNA avuncular test can still be performed.

Unlike a DNA paternity test which will always provide a conclusive result, avuncular tests are different. When an avuncular test is conducted, the DNA laboratory will determine the genetic profile of the alleged relatives Based on the type of genetic material exhibited by each person, an avuncular index is determined. If the avuncular index is less than 1.00, this indicates non-relatedness. If the avuncular index is greater than 1.00, this indicates that the two tested individuals are more likely to be true biological relatives. The higher the value of the avuncular index, the greater the likelihood that the two individuals are true biological relatives.

Although the avuncular test will not provide you with a conclusive answer, it may be able to provide you with an indication of whether you are more likely to be or not to be the true biological relative of the other tested individual.

Some laboratories go through great lengths to inflate both the cost and explanation of what exactly a court admissible DNA test is.  In fact, if you do your homework, you'll discover that most small labs refer their legal DNA tests to other labs that are in fact AABB accredited.   They try to mislead you to believe they do their own tests, but they are prohibited if they are not accredited, leaving them no other option but to broker out the test. 

Both a legal paternity tests and a non-legal paternity tests are performed in exactly the same manner, except that all persons tested are clearly identified as part of the legal paternity test. In order for a paternity test to be valid in a court of law, it must meet the criteria as set forth by law, regarding the identification of person(s) being tested. This is commonly referred to as "chain of custody".
